2.0 Release Notes
Notable changes
- Cleaner Interface - I was really in love with the Locations interface when I released it two years ago, but the more you use something the more you realize that it's just too crowded. In two more years we should be down to a magic button that just does what you want.
- A default trigger by default - I suspect too many users didn't know that you could right click on the "+" button under triggers and set up a location to run for any unrecognized network. Now there's one there by default. You can also right click the triggers list to add it as well.
- Growl Support is Temporarily Removed - Growl 1.2 isn't quite out yet, so until it is growl support is gone. When it comes back, it will probably be in the form of an action that gets added to each profile by default.
- Reorderable Actions - There was a major flaw in the Locations 1.0 data model that made reordering actions essentially impossible. A lot of behind the scenes stuff has been rewritten so that you can drag and drop actions to specify which order they should happen in.
Speaking of actions, here are the new ones in 2.0:
- Adium Status
- Check for New Podcasts in iTunes
- Run a Terminal Command
- Start a Time Machine Backup
